Worst… game… ever. Well, maybe not the worst, but  the Illini’s home loss to Penn State last night was certainly one of the least entertaining basketball games I’ve ever watched. In fact, this game was so horrible I can’t even put my finger on one or even two reasons this game sucked so much, but here are my top 5:Â
1. Neither team shot better than 30%. PSU finished the game with a dreadful 28%, Illinois ended up with a slightly less horrifying 30%.
2. At the nine minuet mark of the first half exactly 2 buckets had been scored. Two.
3. Of the 33 3-point shots that were taken exactly 6 went in the basket.
4. Illinois’ offensive attack was so feeble that in 40 mins of play they were unable to get to the free-throw line one time.
5. Someone actually won this shit-show. The biggest problem I have with soccer is that games are allowed to end in a draw. But if there was ever a game in which no one deserved to win, this was it.
The plus side in all this is that I feel vindicated in my decision to not put Illinois at number 1 in the Power Rankings despite they’re recent surge. And why did I say I wouldn’t do that? Because I just wasn’t convinced this team was for real. Needless to say, I remain skeptical.
